„Schildkroet", formerly Rheinische Gummi- und Celluloidwerke, is one of the oldest doll manufacturers and was founded in 1873.

On our websites the size of every doll is given to you in Centimeter and inches (see sample below).
The extraordinary development at that time was the manufacture of celluloid dolls being solid, washable and hygienic.

On the strength of this new product the trade mark of the „Schildkroete" ( tortoise) was registered at the Imperial Patent Office in Berlin (over 110 years ago) on 9th October, 1889.

Thus Schildkröt is the eldest still today producing doll manufacturer of Germany. Now already since 1896 until today uninterruptedly dolls are manufactured.

With a „Schildkroet“ doll you shop a completely German product!

The first two digits (i.e. 83) is the number for the doll.
Every doll is almost unique by the work done by hand.
*
The third and fourth digits in bold numbers (i.e. 49) in the size in cm.
It can come to little deviations at the painting (e.g. two freckles more in the face) or the cloting (small color differences).

The last three digits (i.e. 621) is the number of the dressing. If you like to order a separat dressing for your doll, just have a look to the size!
However, this is only a sign for the absolutely individual work done by hand of the doll makers and no quality loss.

If the size of the dressing is corresponding to the size of your doll, you can order without problems.
